Review: 3 Foundation's I've been trying

NARS Sheer Matte Foundation
I've heard so many people rave about NARS Sheer Glow foundation including the fabulous Tanya Burr amongst others who love it so I thought I'd give it a go. I went to the NARS counter in Selfridges and the lady there colour matched my skin for when I'm not wearing any fake tan as I already had a few darker ones. She recommended I try the NARS Sheer Matte foundation instead as I told her I am prone to getting oily skin sometimes when the weather is a bit warmer - although my skin is predominately dry. I went for the Sheer Matte thinking "oh it will be fine I usually powder my my foundation anyway so this will save that extra step." Very bad idea! I'm afraid to say I completely hated this foundation. It did not sit right at all on my skin and gave me hardly any coverage. (I should have guessed from the word 'sheer') However I thought I would be able to build up the coverage but it just made it incredibly cakey and actually made my nose flake. Maybe this is why I haven't heard much about the Sheer Matte and maybe I will get on much better with the Sheer Glow but I certainly wouldn't recommend this particular foundation. Although everybody's skin is different and it could look amazing on you! If I were to give you some advice if you are thinking of purchasing this I would say it would be much better if you have much more oily skin than me.

Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup
I actually hadn't seen or heard of this foundation before until my mum told me to give it ago and I must say it was really nice. The colour was slightly pink toned rather than my usual yellow based foundations but it was pretty much a perfect match. It is a medium coverage but you can build it to an almost flawless full coverage yet still feels weightless on the skin. I also like that it isn't too dry but isn't too glowy either as I have combination skin (mostly dry) so it is just right for me. This is perfect for daytime and I will definitely be re-purchasing when I've finished the bottle.

L'Oréal Infallible 24H Matte
You'd think I would stay away from matte foundations considering my nightmare with NARS Sheer Matte but I actually preferred this so much more! I picked this up after hearing a lot about it recently as it is new. I also adore L'Oréal foundations - in fact L'Oréal True Match is one of my all time favourites. The colour I picked was absolutely perfect for my skin and covers all of my redness and really evens out my skin tone. The coverage is excellent and with only a thin layer it conceals everything. However, you guessed it, it was a little too drying but nothing I can't make work. I definitely wouldn't powder over this and it also made it hard to wear my mac concealer over it, but to be honest there isn't much need to wear concealer with the great coverage it has. I may re-purchase this in the summer when my skin is slightly more oily but I don't think I would in the colder months.
