Products I Use For A Night Out

It's Friday, the weekend starts here! Unless you're unlucky like me and have to work weekends.. But occasionally I get a Saturday off and I definitely make the most of it. If I'm going on a night out I really like to spend the entire day getting ready - this probably sounds really weird but I'll talk you through my products I use.

  • Firstly I take a shower or relaxing bubble bath in the morning and use my Nivea Gentle Exfoliating Scrub for normal and combination skin in preparation for my tanning. I do like this scrub because it's a good price and does the job but I do prefer the one from Soap & Glory. Also whilst in there I wash my hair using the Tigi Pro Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner for Fine Hair.

  • After my bath I brush my teeth with the best toothpaste I have ever used. Colgate Max White One. You've probably heard of people raving about this but it's seriously worth the hype. You are supposed to see a difference after 5 days of brushing but I noticed a difference after 1 day. I  highly recommend it!

  • Still focusing on my teeth I take one of my Cocowhite sachets that I have been trying and swill this for 5-15 minutes while either painting my nails or doing whatever. So far I am not impressed with Cocowhite; I haven't been seeing massive results from it and it's pretty gross too. I will do a review on it once I have finished the course.

  • Moving on to skin I wash my face and use these Bioré Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips on my nose to unblock any pores and remove any blackheads.

  • Next I cleanse with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. This stuff is fantastic and has been compared to Bioderma. I highly recommend this.

  • After cleansing I tone by using the Nivea Refreshing Toner for normal and combination skin. It's nothing dramatic but feels refreshing on the face and helps remove any small amounts of leftover makeup along with helping even out your skin tone.

  • The most important step is moisturising! I have been using the Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Day Cream for oily and combination skin. This moisturiser does the job but doesn't blow me away and isn't the best I've ever used, however it is good for my combination skin as it isn't oily or drying at all.

  • I then take a small amount of my Estēe Lauder Idealist Even Skin Tone Illuminator over the skin and I really love the silkiness of this it feels amazing! I will definitely be purchasing the full size bottle of this.

  • This is a step I don't always take but for the past few weeks my lips have been insanely dry and chapped, the worst they have ever been. So I have been using the Blistex Intensive Moisturiser and it's really been helping.

  • While I let all of my moisturisers settle in to my skin I put in my contact lenses. I wear the Acuvue Moist Dailies for Astigmatism.

  • Next I move on to hair. While my hair is still quite wet and before I brush it out I use the Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Penetrating Oil which makes my hair easier to brush through and smells great. I then brush through with my 'Tangle Teezer.'

  • Then I use my favourite root booster the Tigi Catwalk Volume Collection Your Highness Root Boost Spray. This stuff is one of my all time favourite hair products, it is fantastic and really lifts your hair and gives you loads of volume.

  • I then leave my hair to dry naturally which usually takes a couple of hours. I like to take this time to put on my fake tan. I make sure this is still quite early on in the day because it takes a few hours to develop. I think most people put on their fake tan the night before and then shower in the morning but I just never get the right shade for my skin if I do this. So I use my favourite ever fake tan the St Tropez Bronzing Mousse. I love the colour it gives and the smell of it. I apply this with a tanning glove to make sure I don't get those awful 'tan hands'.

  • I then use the rest of the day to relax, do my nails, have a glass of wine (or two) and figure out what kind of make up look I want and decide what clothes to wear.
  • When it comes to a couple of hours before I have to leave I start on my makeup. I always prime my face so my makeup doesn't slide off during the night (although it usually does anyway). I use the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer. It is okay but once I'm out of it I'm going to purchase a Smashbox Primer to try that.

  • After my face is primed I go in with my all time favourite foundation. Estēe Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I use a shade a couple shades darker than my normal foundation as I have on fake tan. This stuff is incredible and I recommend it for everyone.

  • Now I won't go into my whole makeup routine - I'll save that for another post but most of the time I find myself reaching for my Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette. As you might be able to tell from the state of it I have had it for ages and get so much use out of it!

  • Now another product that I find is essential for a night out makeup look is Mac Mineralised Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle. This stuff is absolutely amazing and has changed the way I do my makeup forever. I absolutely love it. Well worth the hype.

  • After my makeup is all done and my hair is dry. I style my hair (usually using a curling wand) and get dressed. To finish off this is a must. I wear my Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche. I wear this every time I go on a night out as it is perfect!

And that's about it! I hope you enjoyed reading about my products I use for a night out. There's probably a lot more I use especially makeup-wise but this post would be even longer so I'll leave the rest for another time. I'd love to know what your essentials are for a night out so please leave me a comment.

Thanks for reading,
