Autumn Make-up Tutorial

Hey guys! This is my first post since I have been back from Paris and although I've only been away for a few days I've really missed blogging almost every day and I've been itching to write a post! Now that it is Autumn (yay!) I thought I would do something a little different to my usual stuff and do a sort of tutorial on the Autumn inspired make-up that I have been wearing lately. It's quite bronzy and dark - which I lo-o-o-ve and I hope you like it too :-) It did take me ages to take photos of the make-up that actually showed up so I apologise if they're a bit crap. In fact if you would like me to do a youtube tutorial on this so you can see it a bit better then please let me know and if the demand is high enough I will :-) So let's crack on.

  1. I started off by priming my face with my Revlon face primer - which also acts as a mattifying layer so if you have oily skin it will be fantastic for you.
  2. Take your favourite foundation and apply it to your face however you prefer. I used Clinique Perfectly Real foundation and applied it with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush. This foundation is a really good coverage.
  3. Next use your concealer under your eyes and wherever else you need more coverage. I used Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer but honestly, I don't really rate it. I would recommend Collection Lasting Perfection because it really is the best!
  4. I have combination skin but lately I've been getting quite oily so I used my favourite pressed powder Maybelline Fit Me powder to mattify even more and prevent any oiliness throughout the day.
  5. Carrying on with the face take your favourite bronzer or contour colour and apply that in the hollow of your cheeks, along your forehead, temples and jawbone. I used Rimmel Natural Bronzer - which I'm loving at the moment.
  6. I didn't actually use any blusher but this would be where you would use yours if you want one.
  7. If you like to wear highlighter take Mac Soft & Gentle across the tops of your cheekbones, a little on the forehead, tip of your nose, cupid's bow and a little on your chin.
  8. On to the eyes I took Mac Antiqued which is a beautiful coppery colour all across the mobile lid.
  9. I blended this out by using Mac Haux as my transition colour and used a Mac 217 to do this.
  10. I then used Mac Honey Lust just in the inner corners of my eyes and used a pencil brush to do that.
  11. With the same pencil brush take Antiqued again and sweep that under the eye.
  12. Next I used Rimmel Liquid Liner to draw a line across the eye with a wing at the end.
  13. Now line your tight line and water line with any black pencil liner. I used Mac Kohl in Feline. Make sure you take that just a little bit below the water line but not too far down.
  14. If you like you can now smudge that just a little bit with Antiqued again with a pencil brush just to smoke that out a little.
  15. Add lashings of mascara for thick full eyelashes. I used L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara - which is incredibly hard not to transfer on your lid so be very careful with this.
  16. Next up is brows but everyone is different here so do them however you usually would. I always use Mac Night Whisper with a Mac 208 brush to do mine.
  17. On to the lips, I would definitely recommend lining your lips before using a dark colour but if you're like me and don't have the right shade just go straight in with the bullet. I first moisturised my lips with some chapstick and then used Rimmel Starry-Eyed which is a gorgeous deep berry colour. It comes out a lot lighter and more red in the picture but it is a lot darker in person.

So that's the finished look! Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything. Like I said though the pictures really don't do it justice I really love the colour pay off of Antiqued! I would absolutely LOVE it if you re-created this look using your own products so if you do please please take a picture and upload to instagram and tag me in it so I can see it or tweet me your picture on twitter! I'm @abieelucas on both platforms so I cannot wait to see your Autumn looks!! Also please leave me a comment below and tell me what you think of this look, would you wear it? And what is your go-to Autumn look?

Thanks so much for reading guys, your comments make my day every single day and make me so happy! I'll be back tomorrow with another post :-)
